Roof Measurement Worksheet
Fill in the appropriate boxes for each area you measure. Give each area a recognizable name so it makes sense when you look at it 3 days from now.
Ref. Area Name Width
Feet
Length
Feet
Height

Diameter

Calculated
Area, ft2
1. (Example) Front - East end 9.17 18.5 4.42

It may be useful to make rough freehand sketches of measured areas for later reference, like this:

This rough sketch will allow future comparison of worksheet notes with actual areas measured. The reference numbers (e.g., 1 through 4) can be placed in any area of the worksheet. - that is, the numbers on the worksheet don't have to be in order - they just need to refer accurately to the areas noted in your sketches.

Note that the circles around numbers 1 & 4 overlap both the rectangular lower portion and the triangular gable, to indicate the entire area, rather than separate them into separate rectangles and triangles.

There's no need to make yourself crazy trying to measure every tiny variation. Gross numbers are fine, provided that if you err, it's on the heavy side.

We suggest you not deduct for average windows and doors. They should be removed from your calculations only if they're unusually large and numerous.
